indirection has an appetite

Indirection has an appetite

And consumes to hide from itself

Because we aren’t accustomed to tasting with our eyes

Or nourish from the scents of the world

We’d rather make THAT, US

And swell

And judge with the examination of digestions

I often feel I can turn anything into dirt

my knife cuts into bites

I can feed others while I eat

And then the communion of our bellies

Is served to the measure of the cooking
